Discovered recently - 'FIRE & BRIMSTONE' sulfur balls of fire that fell on Sodum & Gomorrah and the 'cities of the plains'
Fact or Fiction: The Fight for reality
Some people might 'scoff' that the bible is a book of fictional accounts but the evidence is undeniable that the story about Sodum & Gomurrah has been accounted for with very real and verifiable evidence which has only come to be discovered in very recent years.
In the book of Genesis, chapter 19:24, the Bible actually describes burning sulfur and fire raining down from the sky which permanently destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Is there any actual evidence still left in the geological record that matches the Bible’s description of what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah?
This short glimpse documentary shows that it is in fact the case that there was an event described exactly as the bible lays out, in days gone past (around 3300–2000 BCE) , in the land of the lower plains around the Dead Sea in what is today known as Jordan, located about 8 miles (13 km) south of Bab edh-Dhra.
They were part of a group of cities known as the "Cities of the Plain" (or the Pentapolis)
According to the Bible (Genesis 14:2, 8 and Deuteronomy 29:23), there were five cities in this region. Four were destroyed, and one was spared: [1, 2, 3]
Admah: Entirely destroyed.
Zeboiim: Entirely destroyed.
Sodom: Entirely destroyed.
Gomorrah: Entirely destroyed.
Zoar (Bela): Spared as a place of refuge for Lot and his daughters.
While the Shroud of Turin reveals the depth of God’s sacrificial love and the ruins of Sodom and Gomorrah declare His holiness and righteous judgment, the Bible makes it clear that the greatest acts of both mercy and judgment are still to come.
Jesus Himself warned in Matthew 24:
“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the [c]elect’s sake those days will be shortened… Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. ” (Matthew 24:21-22, 29-30)
These events — the Great Tribulation, the cosmic signs, the rise of the Antichrist, and the visible, glorious return of Christ — have not yet taken place. The Book of Revelation further details this future sequence: the opening of the seals, the sounding of the trumpets, the pouring out of the bowls of God’s wrath, the Battle of Armageddon, and the final defeat of evil.
None of these prophesied events have been fulfilled in history. They remain future realities. Just as the Shroud stands as evidence of Christ’s first coming in humility and love, these yet-to-be-fulfilled prophecies stand as God’s solemn warning and promise of His second coming — this time in power, judgment, and unchallenged authority.
The same Jesus who died and rose again is coming back. The question for every man and woman is: Will we receive Him now as Savior, or face Him later as Judge?
